The Successful Candidate Will
1. In the absence of the Cultural Programmer - Performing Arts, or the Box Office Volunteer Co-Ordinator, the Front of the House Co-coordinator will assume responsibility for supervising the operations of the theatre during the shift.
2. Arrive at least 30 to 60 minutes before volunteers to setup the lobby in preparation for the production, including installation of ticket taker stations, barricades, cashier setup, bar and concession setup.
3. Maintain clear communication with the Theatre Co-Ordinator, Cultural Programmer, Box Office Volunteer Co-Ordinator or Box Office Staff with regards to aspects of the rental or performance.
4. Monitor volunteers, work with Box Office and Technical staff to ensure licensee and patrons have a safe and enjoyable event.
5. Walk around venue to become familiar with any special production or technical requirements that may cause concern during the production.
6. Ensure that all fire exits are free from obstructions.
7. Ensure that all pre-show and intermission music is cued and that all relevant announcements are made.
8. Work with Box Office staff to expedite ticket pickup.
9. Respond to general information and theatre specific questions as required.
10. Working with volunteer cashiers and team leaders, balance event receipts.
11. Working with the Facility/Caretaking staff, advise them when they can commence their rounds.
12. After the event, ensure that all patrons and cast members have exited the building and lockup. Advise Facility/Caretaker Staff that you are exiting the building.
13. Provide the Theatre Co-Ordinator with any relevant documentation regarding the evening's activities or incidents.
14. Prepare any Incident/Accident reports that may be required as a result of a patron's, volunteer's, or staff member's fall, accident or any other event that may require management's attention.
15. Assist with all other duties as assigned in accordance with departmental and corporate objectives and Department guidelines.
