Working with the Town of Newmarket’s Recreation and Culture Team, means the opportunity to make a difference and connect with your community! The Successful Candidate Will: 

1.    Responsible for program delivery of introductory arts and crafts programs for preschool and children.  

2.    Ensure accurate attendance is taken at each class, and all paperwork is completed and returned to Recreation Programmer and/or Cultural Programmer after final session for documentation. 

3.    Develop program plans that includes equipment and supplies required and development plans. 

4.    Manage their class time and preparation time, as well as arriving on time for their program, ensuring all supplies are available and that such equipment and supplies are maintained in a safe condition and ensures a proper setup of their room 
        prior to the commencement of each class.

5.    Work cooperatively and maintain ongoing and effective communication with participants, and the Cultural Programmer. 

6.    Fill out the required paperwork that deals with Health and Safety issues, accidents, incidents or facility issues and/or escalates issues as appropriate.

1.    Experience in arts program design, development and delivery experience in an arts-based, recreational or school setting. 
2.    Excellent interpersonal, team effectiveness, communication, organizational and leadership skills. 
3.    Strong customer service and administrative skills. 
4.    Availability/flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and at different sites as required. 
5.    Demonstrated time management skills with ability to prioritize demands, meet customer service standards and deadlines. 
6.    Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification required.
7.    Current High Five (Principles of Healthy Child Development) certification required (Preschool-Youth classes)
8.    Due to the nature of the contacts of this position a Police Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the Town is required.

Please Note: Certifications are not required at time of application but must be obtained prior to job commencement. The Town of Newmarket may offer opportunities for certification.
