Demonstrated knowledge of the sport industry.

Demonstrated knowledge of staff supervision and development, team building, conflict resolution as well as customer service.

Progressive experience in recreation programming and facility utilization in a municipal environment.

Strong customer service orientation, interpersonal, conflict resolution, consultative, problem-solving, analytical and presentation skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated knowledge of budget preparation and management.

Proficient in the use of MS Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and recreation software systems.

Knowledge of relevant legislative requirements pertaining to programs, youth, and seniors such as, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Health and Sports, the Town standards, and bylaws.

Knowledge of legislation, bylaws, legal proceedings and the ability to interpret legislation such as Ontario Liquor Control Board, Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, Public Health Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA), Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA), Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, Employment Standards legislation and administrative bylaws.

Knowledge of market conditions, competitive positioning and demographics for assigned line of business to ensure that marketing and programming are responsive to customer and resident needs.
